Terms of Service

What Easywill is

Easywill is a document service, not a law firm. For most Kiwis, that's all you need. We help you create will documents using solicitor-reviewed templates built for New Zealand under the Wills Act 2007 (NZ). Using Easywill does not create a solicitor-client relationship between you and us or any third party.

The documents we produce

Built on solicitor-reviewed templates for New Zealand. For most people with straightforward circumstances (a partner, children, clear wishes), our documents are a practical and reliable solution. For complex estates, a solicitor review is worth the investment. If your situation involves overseas assets, business interests, or a blended family, our AI will flag this during the process.

Signing and witnessing your will correctly is essential to make it legally binding. We provide clear, jurisdiction-specific instructions. It is your responsibility to follow them.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Easywill and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of our service or the documents it produces. This includes (but is not limited to) any claim that a document is invalid, incomplete, or unsuitable for your particular circumstances.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your account and data

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Your will data is stored securely and is only accessible to you. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Subscriptions and payments

Subscription plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, but if you have a problem please reach out and we will do our best to make it right.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the site before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Easywill after that point means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute arising from your use of Easywill will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand, unless applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.
