When you use Easywill, we collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and the details you enter while creating your will (such as names of beneficiaries, executors, and assets). We also collect basic usage data such as pages visited and actions taken within the app, to help us improve the service.

How we use your information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Easywill service. This includes generating your will document, sending you a copy by email, and communicating with you about your account. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to authorised personnel only. We retain your will data for as long as your account is active, or as required by applicable law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain your session. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent some parts of the service from working correctly.

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate Easywill:

• Stripe: for payment processing. Stripe handles your card details directly; we never store your full payment information.
• Resend: for transactional email delivery (e.g. your will document, account confirmations).
• Supabase: for secure database hosting and authentication.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy and processes data only as necessary to provide their service to us.

Your rights (NZ Privacy Act 2020)

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if it is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to delete your data, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain it. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@easywill.life.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the site before the change takes effect.
