• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)

Will content

• Beneficiary names and relationships
• Executor names
• Guardian names
• All will answers

Usage data

• How you use the platform
• Email open and click data

2. How we use it

To provide the service

• Generate your will document
• Deliver it by email
• Allow you to update it

To improve the service

• Understand how users complete the will flow
• Fix technical issues

To communicate with you

• Transactional emails about your will and account
• Reminders relevant to your will
• Product updates (with your consent)

What we will never do

We will never sell your personal data. We will not share your will content with third parties except as required to provide the service (for example, email delivery via Resend). We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Who we share with

We share your data only with service providers who help us operate Easywill. All providers are contractually required to protect your data:

• Firebase (Google) — data storage and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — email delivery
• Netlify — platform hosting

We will disclose your information if required by NZ law or a court order.

4. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ) you have the right to:

• Access personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data
• Complain to the Privacy Commissioner if you believe we have breached your rights

5. Data security

We protect your data using:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS)
• Firebase security rules
• Secure authentication
• Access controls

No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting you, we will notify you as required by NZ law.

6. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active.

If you delete your account:

• Personal data deleted within 30 days
• Payment records retained as required by law
• Anonymised usage data may be retained

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Children

Easywill is not for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
